About Us

Guilty Pleasure Catering was established in November 2014 by Dant P. LaSalle, Jr. He is a disabled Military Veteran who graduated with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Restaurant and Catering Management (June 2014) and an AAS in Culinary Arts (December 2014) from the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of San Antonio.

Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1984, he grew up watching his father (Dant P. LaSalle, Sr.) and grandmother (Beverly LaSalle) cook delicious, home-cooked Cajun and Southern Comfort cuisine. After leaving at the age of 18 in 2002 to join the United States Air Force, he was stationed in San Antonio, Texas. Being away from home and not having authentic Cajun cuisine, he started to cook home-cooked meals, with the guidance of his family. At the age of 20, he started to realize there was an opportunity for Cajun food in San Antonio, and started to envision one day owning a restaurant.

While in the Air Force, he did six years active and one year reserve, as a USAF Intelligence Analyst. During his time on active duty, he deployed three times, to Al Udeid (2004), Iraq (2005-2006), and Afghanistan (2007) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. After his military contract time was done in 2008, he got out and worked briefly as a Nissan Car Salesman, and also as a crew member at the only Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers in San Antonio at the time. He eventually got a job back in the Military Intelligence Analysis realm as a Government Contractor in 2009. After getting laid off due to government budget cuts in 2012, he decided to pursue his dream and attended culinary school and eventually graduated.

After his 2007 deployment, he met Genevieve Hernandez in San Antonio, and would eventually marry her in 2009, and made her Genevieve LaSalle. They have been the happy parents of a Chihuahua (Bella), Black Labrador Retriever (Mia), and two Basset Hounds (Noah and Sophia).
